Privacy policy
Updated 27 October 2026
1. Who is responsible
This policy covers indiebookatlas.com, the workspace, reports and communications with Indie Book Atlas. The personal data controller is the sole proprietor ФОП Міцинська Олена Валеріївна; details appear below. Contact support@indiebookatlas.com for privacy questions, access, correction or deletion. The browser extension also has a separate policy.
2. Data we process
Account data includes email, name, identifier, role, access status and language preferences. Research data includes queries, ASINs/URLs, marketplaces, projects, books, notes, watchlists, inputs, saved results and run history. My books may store imported sales, royalty and advertising data. Communications include the messages and contact information you provide.
3. Technical data and sources
Data comes from you, public book sources and the service infrastructure. The platform processes technical logs, request times, IP addresses, browser information, sessions and errors for operation, security and diagnostics. Authentication uses Base44. Do not send your password to support.
4. Purposes and legal bases
Contract performance or steps you request before a contract: sign-in, research, saved results, exports and support. Legal obligations: necessary records and lawful requests. Legitimate interests, subject to your rights: security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and legal claims. Optional marketing or technologies requiring consent use separate consent, which you may withdraw. Registration alone does not constitute consent to promotional email.
5. Processing partners
Base44 provides the application, accounts, storage, integrations and technical logging; Zoho Mail handles support email. External book-data services process book queries and ASINs/URLs. AI services accessed through Base44 integrations may process inputs and relevant report excerpts. We send the data needed for the particular function rather than the entire workspace. Administrators may access records for support, security and error resolution. Disclosure may also be required by binding lawful requests.
6. AI, covers and your materials
AI may receive book descriptions, keywords, competitor data, reviews, cover images and report excerpts for analysis or translation. Review its outputs. Cover uploads currently create a public link: anyone with the URL can access the image. Do not upload confidential designs, sensitive personal data or third-party materials without the necessary rights. We do not claim that external AI services never retain inputs: processing depends on the terms of the relevant integration.
7. Payments and support chat
WayForPay payment acceptance is being prepared. Once enabled, the payment service will process payment details, while the application will process order information, amounts, currencies, status, access and refunds. Do not put card details in research inputs or support messages. tawk.to chat loads after you select “Open chat”, following an explanation of its data processing. It may process your messages, browser technical data and cookies.
8. International processing
Using international platforms may involve processing outside Ukraine or your country of residence. Locations and conditions depend on each service and integration. We do not promise that all data stays exclusively in Ukraine or the EU. You may request information about recipients, applicable contractual terms and safeguards from support; any legally required transfer conditions must apply.
9. Retention
Accounts, projects and saved reports are kept while needed to provide access and your history. Ending a subscription does not automatically delete your account. When you request deletion, we identify data that can be erased and records needed for mandatory accounting, unresolved requests, disputes or security. Retention for those records depends on the relevant need and law; it is not indefinite by default. Removal from backups and platform storage may require a separate process and time. Applicable periods are explained in response to your request; we do not promise immediate deletion of every copy.
10. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may obtain processing information and access, request correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing, withdraw consent and receive portable data. Ukrainian data protection rights apply; where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, their relevant rights also apply. Write from your account email; we may request proportionate identity verification. Statutory deadlines govern responses; acknowledging receipt does not mean the request has been completed.
11. Complaints, security and updates
You may complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or your competent data protection authority. Server records are subject to access rules and authorized roles; internet transmission cannot be guaranteed absolutely secure. The service is for adults aged 18+. Contact support if a child's data has been submitted. We publish the current version here and communicate material changes through the service or email where required.
12. Chrome Web Store extension
The Indie Book Atlas extension is available in Chrome Web Store. After your action it reads Amazon book-page data and locally stores up to five selected books and language preferences. Service-action buttons pass the ASIN, marketplace, book title and selected action to the website through an HTTPS URL. The extension does not automatically transmit the whole local list, receive account passwords or maintain a general browsing log. Full handling and permission details are in the separate extension privacy policy linked below.
