Cookies and local storage

Updated 27 October 2026

1. Cookies and local storage

Cookies are browser records that may be sent to the relevant website. localStorage keeps settings on your device until changed or cleared. These stores differ from server reports. Deleting cookies does not delete your account.

2. Necessary mechanisms

Base44 uses authentication, session and security mechanisms to operate accounts. Names and lifetimes depend on the platform version; they do not constitute marketing consent. Infrastructure may also keep technical logs and operational statistics. As of this version, our site code does not separately integrate Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar or advertising retargeting; this is not a claim that Base44 keeps no technical logs.

3. Language preferences

localStorage uses iba-language for your chosen interface language. Without a saved choice, the IP connection’s country code selects Ukrainian for Ukraine and English for other or unknown countries. This lookup uses our domain’s infrastructure; the language selector does not store the IP address or request device location. Your manual choice takes priority. The listing page may also store book_card_report_locale for report language. Values remain until changed or cleared. These keys are not used for advertising. Blocking storage may reset your language choice; the current page can keep the choice in memory.

4. Chat and payments

tawk.to chat loads only after a separate “Open chat” action following an explanation and a link to its policy. Opening chat may involve third-party cookies, identifiers and technical data transfers. You may decline by not opening it and using email instead. Once payment is enabled, WayForPay's page may use necessary payment and security mechanisms. This document alone does not authorize optional tracking.

5. Your choices

Change language with the service switcher; clear or restrict cookies and site data in your browser. This may end sessions and reset preferences. If chat has already loaded, close or reload the page, do not reopen chat and clear third-party browser data if needed to stop using it. Saved server records are deleted separately on request. Before introducing analytics or marketing technologies requiring consent, we will update this policy and provide the relevant choice.

6. Extension and questions

The browser extension separately stores the service address and selected books locally; see its own privacy policy. Contact support@indiebookatlas.com with storage or data-processing questions.
